Most talk of men's rights that I've heard seem to come at the expense of women's rights. When I heard Richard Reeves interviewed on the radio, I was relieved to hear someone who framed the argument differently.

Men are struggling as their role in society is changing...but in a way often difficult to define and certainly not supported by government policies or societal norms. The author argues for change in workplace policies to support men as engaged fathers. He argues that the efforts to increase women's participation in STEM should be matched by efforts to get more men into HEAL -- health, education, administration and literacy. This is where there are already severe labour shortages, increasing demand for workers and a potential for good wages.

Written in an accessible style, this book is well researched, sensible, and so important.

I was skeptical at first, but the author won me over with solid data and research, persuasive arguments, and reasoned conclusions. I think this is a necessary discussion of a critical topic. This is an important book.

Concise. the title says what you need to know. The solutions at the end sound nice ... if only.
