Vicki Reed

A young boy is given a rough life after the death of his father, then is grandfather and tossed into the system. His only dream is going back to Wyoming, where he still has good memories. But one small mistake, snowballs into a bigger mistake and he ends up doing time. With sympathetic grownups, he has some sort of normalcy and a change of becoming a decent human being and not a career criminal.

Although the book is over 400 pages, I found the story fascinating and learned about the child welfare and juvenile justice systems can do to a child.… (más)
