American Social History Project

I can't begin to tell you how important this book is to understanding and learning about the Civil War era of the United States. It was, without being too emotional in writing, an emotional book to read. I recommend it highly to everyone, whether or not they find it this way or through Project Gutenberg like I did. You don't know what you're missing until you read it, and it certainly won't cost you a dime to become educated.
