6. I was somewhat disappointed in this book only because it was not specific about what tribe/nation was depicted in each photo or painting. Captions were more of a general statement about what is in the picture rather than telling what tribe we were looking at. For instance, there is a historical photo that points out how "some people painted special designs on their tepees" rather than say which tribes used that practice or what tribe we are seeing in the photo. This happens throughout the main text and the captions, with the exception of a page giving a few examples of certain tribes that used tepees. It was pointed out several times, however, that Plains Indians mostly utilized tepees. Other than that, I found the book to be pretty informative from a basic standpoint. It gave a lot of information about how they are constructed. There was also a good glossary in the back. 7. This book could be used in social studies when discussing Native Americans, their dwellings, their use of the buffalo, etc.… (más)
