Lovely story about a family who move into an old house, where the 8 year old discovers a French Horn and immediately falls in love with it. While he is successfully learning to play it, by dint of calling England's best horn player for a short telephone lesson (this was hilarious) and consulting a how-to book from a secondhand bookstall, his sister tries to raise money for piano lessons by selling floral materials at the Saturday market. There's a mystery plot as well with paintings in an abandoned but locked barn - who stashed them there? All round a very satisfying book.… (más)
