Wynter Pitts

I got this book after hearing about Wynter Pitts' tragic passing, and I was so touched by her voice. Her heart shines through as she powerfully and lovingly talks about raising strong, godly young women. I definitely recommend this book for any mama raising a girl or girls, especially for those times when the responsibility of setting a godly example seems particularly daunting. This is a book I will likely come back to in the coming years as my daughter grows. Thank you God for Wynter's life and impact on generations of girls and women. I recommend this book!… (más)

I loved the conversational writing style, and the switch back and forth between who was writing was always smooth and comfortable. The stories were relevant and interesting. I also felt they used scripture well. The “Your Turn” sections at the end of each chapter are thoughtful and helpful. I am not sure the “prayer” sections at the end of the chapters were necessary, but they weren’t problematic either.
I liked that this book addresses not so much things we can/should do or not do but looks at attitudes, perceptions and expectations and compares them to Biblical teaching. Furthermore, the look at the fruits of the spirit and how they play a role in our marriages was so touching and enlightening. This was a wonderful book for those in any stages of marriage.… (más)

At any point in your relationship this books gives a beautiful transparent account of the Pitts' 15 year marriage and what helped guide them to living the best they could as a married couple. God at the center and realizing how to pour out themselves to fill their spouse so they both felt fully loved and appreciated. The break up of this book is great - giving both the husband and wife's side of each issue. Reading this at the beginning of a marriage or even years into it would be beneficial for both sides. I'm currently reading this again with a group of wives and I appreciate the new things that come from discussing it with others.… (más)
