This installment explains the origins of Trager and when Murkoff learned about the pseudocyesis, or psychosomatic or false pregnancies among female employees working at Mount Massive.

I read through this quickly, not strictly because it's a short comic, but because it's easy to be engrossed when filling in the blanks in the Outlast universe. However, I admit to reading this installment with more vigor than the first, so I've rounded up the star rating.

This part covers Billy Hope's story as well as some background on Paul Marion. It almost stands alone. The first two parts tie more of the overall Outlast story while this one tells two, almost self-contained, personal, parallel stories that happen to include characters that have larger roles outside of this part. It was fast and fun with an interesting plot twist.

In Part 4 of this comic series, the Pauls investigate Miles Upshur's house and come across Simon Peacock, who leaves the first hints of what will be the events in Outlast 2.

This one was actually a little funny. The usually deeply disturbing Murkoff bad guys in the games have been somewhat on par in the comics, but this time they're more human. The story starts digging into their character rather than just their roles within Murkoff. It's also interesting to see what becomes of the protagonist from Outlast 1 and the hinted good guy of Whistle-blower and earlier parts of this comic series.… (más)

I'm surprising myself by reading a comic that fits along a survival horror video game. But I was brushing up on Wikia, and there were a lot citations to these "Murkoff Account" sources and they turned out to be comics. Six of them. This is bizarrely exciting. I love piecing together story elements not fully explored in games.

This one covers the start of the Pauls and the origin of Chris Walker. It's short, but interesting. And the art style is vague like viewing through a windshield in a rain storm, so it's of a "it was a dark and stormy night" mold and not near as horrifying as the actual game.… (más)
