The Secret Orphan by Glynis Peters was truly fascinating and I want to read more of her books. Well-researched and has great characters. It was great to learn more about the British women volunteers to go to work the farms. It is a great sweet romance and encounters with German Prisoners of War. This book helped me endure the strenuous labor of moving. It is a good pick for everyone who loves World War II historical fiction.

Who cares for the caregivers?
All the non-soldiers at home and the Canadian soldiers in Europe are reassigned with little or no notice or even uncommon sense. Following along with a few of the caregivers of displaced orphaned children as they are shuffled from place to place with no continuity. No wonder that nightmares and PTSD are the norm. This book clearly presents the apparent stories of The War At Home. Compelling.
I requested and received an ARC e-book from HarperCollins UK/One More Chapter via NetGalley. Thank you!

The Red Cross Orphans by Glynis Peters is Historical Fiction set in World War II. Glynis Peters tells a story of the Blitz in England, War Orphans, Red Cross nursing and romance. I enjoyed reading about the nurse’s training and about their work. The way nurse’s moved frequently and their assignment changes reminded me of today’s traveling nurses. I liked the characters but felt some characters and situations were not always believable. The Red Cross Orphans is an exciting story and very difficult to put down. I look forward to the next book and new adventures.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. I appreciate the opportunity and thank the author and publisher for allowing me to read, enjoy and review this book. 4 Stars
