Both children (ages 1 and 4) really enjoyed guessing what was the next animal. It was short and colorful so both children stayed interested the whole time. This is a book they asked to read again. It was a fun book so I was not surprised that my children enjoyed it.

Pros: Explore, guess, and uncover - this board book engage young listeners / readers in lots of ways.

Young Reader Reaction: My son enjoyed the pictures. He was intrigued by the geometric patterns and wanted to touch all the cut out pages. He also enjoyed pointing out the pictures that he knew, like the kitty. He asked to read this several times.

Adult Reader Reaction: I wasn't sure how my son would react to this book, but he obviously enjoyed it. It was simple and pleasant to read. I enjoyed the bright colors.

Pros: Pleasant cutouts and patterns engage young readers. There are plenty of items for children to point out and name.

Une autruche court derrière un rhinocéros qui court derrière le zèbre qui court derrière… On connaît le principe du conte de randonnée : treize animaux forment ainsi une longue ribambelle, jusqu’à un feu rouge incongru qui brise le bel élan. Sur chaque double page figurent le train avant d’un animal et le train arrière du suivant découpés en blanc sur fond uni, quelques lignes sobres pour planter le décor. Au lecteur de trouver quel animal va apparaître. Martine Perrin construit un album jeu solide, efficace et dynamique pour les petites mains maladroites et les lectures partagées.
