Jean Pelletier

In 1979, Iran students and revolutionaries attacked and over ran the US Embassy in Tehran. They took prisoner most of the Americans they found inside. Some Americans managed to flee undetected. Six ended up in the Canadian Embassy. Most of the book is about the Canadian Embassy staff's efforts, under the leadership of Ambassador Ken Taylor, to hide these people and eventually help them escape. It is also the story of Canadian La Presse reporter, Jean Pelletier's discovery of the Americans in the embassy and how he sat on the story for a month so they would not be taken by the Iranian security. He is also the co-author of this book.
