This book is for older readers. It would be useful when teaching about other religions, specifically Buddhism. It gives a brief overview of Buddhism and has a heavy focus on meditation, history of the Dalai Lama, Buddha and his teachings, and the meaning of the Mandala. I learned that the Mandala is a mystical representation of the universe and how to make your own Mandala. I think making your own Mandala with the students could be a fun activity. This would be good for lessons about transforming hate and ignorance into love and acceptance.… (más)
Charming bilingual book, with a diverse cast of characters and Tomie De Paola's usual lively illustrations.
My brother took on Francis as his patron saint when he was confirmed so I've always been a bit familiar with his life story. This book is an excellent representation of one of the most well known catholic saints. I wish that there was a book like this for my patron saint, who is also named Francis funny enough, but I'm betting that there is no such book.
Pleasant illustration's to share with babies with a simple story line.
