While I don't believe 10 days is really enough to "detox" from your girly thoughts/beliefs, I do believe this is an interesting take on a self help book.
The book is readable and not overly wordy like some self help books can be. It gets to the point and is written in a way that's both enjoyable and like it's almost a conversation with a friend.
I can't say everything in the book applied to me, but I believe the author was trying to make generalizations about thoughts she's seen occur with people and ones she's experienced herself. So, while parts might not apply to me, they might apply to someone else. I think it's good for women and girls to know that they're not alone in these thoughts and beliefs and for people to become aware of them. While some parts may be generic self-help book, I do think this is one that can cause people to realize they're having these thoughts and how to start to unravel them.
I can say it is a self help book that I'll be keeping and going back to. The nuggets of information and realization I had were enough to make me want to break out the book every once in awhile and start reminding me that these girly thoughts are just that, girly thoughts.
(Note: I got this book in exchange for an honest review through Goodreads Giveaways.)… (más)
