- Genevieve Obert was a multilingual journalist and auto enthusiast whose work appeared regularly in dozens of magazines, including AutoWeek, European Car, Auto Italia, Vintage Motorsport, and the Robb Report. She was an experienced circumnavigator and a popular speaker who was featured on numerous radio and television broadcasts, including on The Travel Channel. In 1997, she joined Linda Dodwell in the 43-day, 10,250-mile auto endurance race, based on a famous 1907 event, called the "Peking to Paris Rally," and won the Women’s Cup. She wrote a book about her experiences, Prince Borghese's Trail: 10,000 Miles over Two Continents, Four Deserts and the Roof of the World in the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge (1999). She also was the author of Obert's Fiat Guide, a compilation of 10 years of the quarterly newsletter, Ciao News.
