- Annette Lucile Noble (1844-1932) was an American author, writing both children's books and light fiction for young women. She was born in Albion, New York in 1844, and educated at the Phipps Union Female Seminary in that same town. She contributed many short stories to magazines, and began publishing novels in 1870, with Eleanor Willoughby's Self. She traveled traveled extensively in Europe and the Near East, and her work was translated into a number of other languages, particularly Dutch. She died in 1932.
