A kitten, the playmate of a very little girl, finally runs away from her ministrations, into a cold, snowy world outdoors. The two-page illustration (by Feodor Rojankovsky) showing the kitten darting away, the snow-covered outdoor furniture, the little girl in her snow clothes but unable to venture into the deep snow after her kitten, the blue and white trees in the distance, the scary black crow mocking her from the gate post, is surely one of the loveliest, most poetic illustrations one will ever find in a children's book.… (más)
