(1) Joe is literally, an (Average "Joe"). He's not a prepper, soldier, or even a health-nut. Although he is fortunate to have wealthy, prepper grandparents, he has to face the end of the world as we know it, with the same hunting and fishing skills that most country folks have.
(2) This bunch doesn't get mentally out of wack when they are forced to defend themselves against others, intending to do them harm. When they face a threat, they eliminate it and get on with the struggle to survive.
(3) A.J. Newman does not tread lightly when examining the myriad of pitfalls, challenges and scumbags that citizens would face in a breakdown of society. Women, children and pacifists must toughen-up if they want to continue breathing and living free.
(4) Lastly, I really like to know what happens to a character when they are introduced into a story, and most of the players in this four-book set are explained in enough detail that we (The Readers), get to learn who they are, how they came into the picture, and how they faired, by the time the series ended. I say most, because a few characters will spin-off new stories - I'm excited...SMILE!!!… (más)
