How do I review this? I certainly don't agree with the argument the author is making, however I'm pleased to find what appears to be a genuine effort to make it and back it up with evidence.

I read this book for a project I'm working on about flood mythology, because it was cited as a reference by somebody claiming that the Flood was a real event and that's why many cultures have flood myths.

This book actually barely covered mythology, focusing on geology and fossils etc. I think it's a deliberate strategic choice, because it's possible to make a fairly convincing sounding argument that rock strata and fossils were formed due to a single catastrophic event rather than deposited over millions of years. However once you start adding a magic boat and all the rest of the Noah story, skeptics are going to ask a lot more questions.

This is also unfortunately too outdated to really cite as a source - it would be better to find something that addresses up to date knowledge like radio carbon dating and genetics. The fact that there doesn't seem to be anything more recent is pretty telling.
