Sweetness overload!

I made two high-volume wahoos while reading this book. It's slightly embarrassing since I was outside walking, and I reckon I could be easily heard a block away. Luckily, it's cold and snowy so most everyone else was tucked away inside.

And yes, they were definitely manly wahoos of joy that could in no way be mistaken for squees of delight.

It's been a year since I last read a volume in this tall girl/short guy slow-burn romcom but I slipped right back into it comfortably and happily. Nothing much happens -- but in a sweet and funny way -- until a cliched hotel room cliffhanger. Fortunately, I have the next volume in hand and won't have to wait to see the sure-to-be-chaste resolution.

Still sweet in its way -- when it can get past the main character's large breasts. Tropes continue to trot out at a regular pace: Valentine's, hot springs, White Day, aquarium and amusement park dates, start of a new school year.

The romantic relationship seems official in all except name at this point, making this a good point to press pause as I wait six months for the next volume's release. It will be interesting to see if my interest will have lost momentum by then.

It's a good thing the characters are so likable and the tone lightly humorous because this series is nothing but a string of manga tropes with big boobs fan service.

Last volume the creator rushed through all the festivals, and this time, after accidentally getting locked in a room together, the characters zip through the winter tropes, having a snow day and celebrating Christmas and New Year's, setting us up for Valentine's Day and White Day next volume.

To keep up the cosplay trope, a teacher introduced last volume is now a recurring character who ensures all the rest of the characters always have season-appropriate costumes available.

And the latest trope: a transfer student is plopped into the story with the promise of shaking up the main characters' will-they-won't-they status quo.

At this point, the only thing more annoying than the tropes and fan service is the number of supporting characters who don't have names. But all those negatives are still outweighed by the sweet romance and silly jokes.
