Biografía breve
Naomi Nash wanted to be an archaeologist when she grew up. Instead, she worked as a soda jerk, a paper-flower maker in an amusement park, a pianist for a senior show tunes choir, a teacher of literature and a glass artist with her own studio. She likes writing novels best of all. She lives with her husband in Royal Oak, Michigan.

This is a very cute book and a must read for anyone on the "outside." Vick's coping mechanism, I thought, was fairly healthy (other than the lying part of course LOL). I was moved from school to school and had problems making friends so I could relate. I only wish when I was in high school, I knew magic LOL

When Kaylee received an urgent call from her friend saying she needed money to get away from her abusive father, Kaylee immediately rushed to her aide only to find Carl, her friend's boyfriend, waiting to bully her in to giving him her money. Just when Kaylee thinks things can't get any worse the electricity goes out while they are on the elevator on the way to the ATM. A Hispanic boy with a wise mouth and words that smell like Honeysuckle to Kaylee saves her and from that moment on the two of them are stuck together on an adventure through an energy deficient NYC with only Kaylee's untrusted Synesthesia to help them along.

For those that don't know (I didn't) Synesthesia is an unorthodox reaction to stimuli, for example sounds make colors and noises make flavors. This combined with Kaylee and Ramon's continuing attempts to traverse the city and get to Brooklyn make for a pretty interesting read. I thoroughly enjoyed this unusual story and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

When 16-year-old Chloe is offered the chance to join a dig in Egypt, she can think of nothing besides the horrors of flying and the evils that lurk within the desert. In order to be able to endure the unendurable, she takes on a new persona. Instead of Chloe the Queen of Denial, she reinvents herself as Chloe the Brave, Chloe the Leader, Chloe the Outspoken. So convincing is she in her new persona that the other kids begin to look upon her as the new person she pretends to be.

'Chloe, Queen of Denial' is a refreshing look through the eyes of a self-conscious and very insecure young girl. As the story progresses, she comes to learn that life is to be relished and not endured, and ends up with a much better image of herself.

Witty, funny and pitch-perfect, this is a YA novel that will appeal to all youngsters as well as adults. Highly recommended.
