Five Fuzzy Chicks por Diana Murray
A perfect pajama storytime book. One by one, five fuzzy chicks fall asleep around the farm. The text rhymes, and day fades slowly into night until at last, all five are tucked in asleep.
A glittery cover, super-saturated bright colors, and rhyming text (a quatrain on each page, AABB rhyme scheme) combine for a frenzied celebration of "Mermaid Day" (why not). Every page is packed, and the colors are Lisa Frank-esque, though the characters are more diverse (mermaids with different skin tones). A shark threatens to break up the party, but really he just wants to dance!

If your kids loved Unicorn Day, then they’re going to love by Mermaid Day. It’s a fun story with brightly illustrated graphics that is a sure to be a page turner for young and old alike.
I relate to this book in a new way since Audrey has come. I mean, the scene where the mom is on a Zoom call and has a distraction write in front of her face? Yep that's me!! BUT it is so wonderful. I would not trade my daughter for anything. I look forward to when she is older and can help me do my job (like actually be my practice storytime audience.)
