After reading other books from this author, it seems there is a lot of copy pasting going on, and this book in particular seems to have some strong vibes of plagiarism instead of researching and and writing, it's more researching and rewording. Both books I read of his were the exact same story, just names, and places, and keywords were changed. Disappointing to say the least.

Captivating.

First I want to say its rare to see a small book fit so much story! The pace of this story was great. Every aspect was well introduced and explained. The characters were well written and relatable. Can't wait to read the rest, I stumbled across this short version through ad and thought the cover looked cool.… (más)

Amazing!

Read this book! Super enjoyable, great storyline and so many places the author can go with it. Can't wait for book two, well written and well laid out. There was one part that I was like come on how much more do they need to throw her way (the black mail part) but it made sense way later. I love how well researched the story is, you can hear the work that went into it with each chapter.… (más)

*This is a Part One* If you follow this author you've probably realized that he does a lot of part ones, it is annoying that it isn't labeled any where so this book stops at a peak climax FYI.

The characters in this book were flat, I don't think any of them had a flaw that was announced as of yet. The storyline left more to be desired over all, but since it's a part one there is only half to base that on. I would have stopped reading at the half way point to be honest but I don't like to leave reviews without fulling reading the book.

I read Shearwater and enjoyed it. Because of that I wanted to read some of the authors other works. I am really against authors that use the same base storyline and just change locations / name / events etc. (cough John Green cough) it feels like cheating the fans.

This books was a carbon copy of Shearwater. Outcast girl, with an extreme talent, has a moment of serious sadness, gets an opportunity to move over seas to discover a giant family secret that ties into the world ending and it's her job to save it. Will she succeed or will she fail?

After reading more on this author it is more obvious that he did this on purpose to figure out which market he would move forward with so with that, I feel used and cheated. Probably won't be reading any more of his books.
