But when a mysterious young woman shows up with strange happenings accompanying her. A riveting coming-of-age fantasy.
Zylia is a teenager unseen. And for most teenagers that is their world. But Zylia finds herself passing into shadow... into the In-Between World. However when she happens upon discovering the mystery of her long disappeared great-aunt she finds herself unable to continue her journey into the In-Between World. She must stay and discover what happened to her aunt. But can she unravel the mystery before she is trapped forever?
Great book Misty! Very well written and the story was very well thought out. The plot was executed beautifully. There is good character development and everything is easy for the reader to follow. It was dark in many aspects but not so dark that it would be considered Gothic. Very well done!
Like her first book I really enjoyed the second one. I'm very excited to have read these books by Misty Mount and would highly recommend them two people who enjoy fantasy with a little bit of mystery.

Have you ever felt invisible like you didn't belong? You watch life unfold on the sidelines never really feeling you are a part of it.

This is how Zylia Moss feels. She is only 13 years old and for most of her life she feels as if she is living in the shadows watching her family from afar. Zylia does not feel like she belongs anywhere. Even in school, Zylia feels alone. She does not have any friends and no one ever seems to see her. Zylia's only solace is her younger sister Ivy. Ivy is the only one who takes an interest in Zylia and sees her for who she is. While she appreciates and loves Ivy, Zylia is still afraid that one day she will slip into the shadows and disappear forever. Life takes an unexpected turn though for Zylia. Her grandmother has dementia and keeps referring to Zylia as Angelica. Angelica is her great aunt who disappeared long ago right around the same age as Zylia. With a new found goal, Zylia looks into finding out the reason behind Angelica's disappearance, hoping she did not wind up like her great aunt lost in the shadows never to be seen or heard from again.

THE SHADOW GIRL is such a wonderful and gripping story that pulls you right in from the beginning. I couldn't help but to feel sorry for Zylia and found myself relating just a bit to how she felt. Many times I have felt invisible or have tried to make myself invisible. I am not the center of attention type and often found myself standing in the shadows during family events or even while out with friends. I also think that for most girls on the cusp of adulthood often feel as if they don't belong one time or another. It is a big part of life especially since your life is changing.

Although this is a young adult novel, I feel that anyone at any age can pick up this story and lose yourself in the writing. Misty Mount knows how to grab your attention and never let go until the final word has been read. She is a talented writer who gives feeling to each of her characters and makes them extremely relatable and even lovable. There is a touch of fantasy weaved throughout the pages and I found it to be originally told and a welcome added addition to the story.

All in all, I found this story to be absolutely perfect for anyone of any age. If you have not picked up a copy of THE SHADOW GIRL do so now. I highly recommend it be added to your reading list.

you will love to hate those children!
Mallory is a strong independent woman with a checkered past. But when she gets accused of theft and fired she must seek employment elsewhere. She does so as a nanny and housekeeper for the Colt family. Brendan Colt's wife has died and he does his best to take care of his two children Meela and Kason. But this family holds a secret and are not all they seem. Can Mallory unlock the mystery behind this seemingly normal family?
A tale of mystery, romance and healing this book was very cleverly written. The story seems to repeat itself several times and stays on one scene for what seems to be too much time which makes it a little harder to read. However the story is a very interesting tale and the author keeps you guessing until the end.
I. HATE. THOSE. KIDS. Ugh, they were such little brats! But I have to give the author props because anyone who can pull that kind of emotion out of me is obviously a very talented writer indeed. So thumbs-up 👍🏻Misty Mount, well done👏🏻. I would definitely recommend this book for a casual read.
