I would rate this book 3 stars and a half. I usually don't do the half thing. This book is actually really good with so many creepy moments. It feels very modern as well from fashion to music. If I describe it I would say it's between Snow White and The Evil Queen's mirror and Snow Queen (the movie) with all the snow, lovers, curses and wolves instead of bears. It's not predictable at all, very original with so many surprises that will keep you guessing along the way.

This is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I think the plot says it all; it’s a very intriguing story with great twists that keep you interested all the way.

Some people aren’t fans of werewolves or any other paranormal stuff but you shouldn’t be put off. You may think this is going to be the same old storyline you find in every other paranormal book, although there are some similarities, there are many carefully woven twists; it isn’t. Mortal Kiss is suspenseful and mysterious in all the right places; it will keep you wanting more.

The characters are all very interesting. I liked Faye’s character, she’s a tough girl; she’s someone that you would definitely want to be friends with. Liz is her best friend; at times I found her really annoying because of her jealousy issues. Then there are the two other guys that complete the love triangle – Finn and Lucas.

At times, the book would become confusing because of the third person narration from different point of views. The changing from character to character does have its positive side though; you get a better insight of each character.

Mortal Kiss is a wonderful debut novel and I can not wait to see more of her works. Fool’s silver, the second book of the series is set to come out on January 5th 2012.
