I think the depressing part of Moscrop's book is that most of the process flaws he identifies in the book have largely been exacerbated since 2019.

This book takes recent research into how we make decisions and the common biases built into our thinking processes and applies that knowledge to the realm of voting. With a federal election looming in Canada, it was a timely read for me. He makes a strong case for people to be informed about the important issues of the day and aware of their biases as ways of making better political decisions. He also makes a case for institutional reform, such as citizen assemblies, to help us reach better decisions. And he reminds us to pay attention to process, which is increasingly important in a pluralistic society: we may never agree on solutions, but if we agree on the process of generating them, we will be able to compromise.

Easy to read -- a very engaging style of writing.
