A collection of scholarly essays on the subject of the title. I admit I skimmed most of them, as they are more about writers not usually considered part of the genre, though there is an interesting essay on why Lord Dunsany is not as good as either Tolkien or Lovecraft, and another on mermaids. The 'Circe' chapter of Ulysses, and a play by Yeats called The Only Jealousy of Emer, get a lot of attention.… (más)
