Christopher Paul Moore (1952–2022)

I think this is a good book, I am surprised that so few people list it. Moore's parents both were in the military in WW2 and he uses their history to good use as he tells the story of African Americans in the military. This is not a scholarly work but Moore includes a lot of history and uses details well to bring alive his story. He covers African American contributions throughout the world, and also includes some information about African soldiers who fought in the French and British armies. One criticism is that there is a great list of all the Units stationed overseas, but these aren't tied to the index.… (más)
