Perfect cozy mystery. If you're looking for a quick read, this is it. Story was well planned and written. But the ending? Oh my. It had me floored. Did not expect that coming.
On the second book of the series and I will definitely be reading more of Willow Monroe's work!

Gemma gets roped into going away with her ex-fiance, Nick, on Valentine's Day weekend. She hadn't expected to go away with him since the plans were made before they broke up but Nick talked her into going anyway because he got a tip that someone at the lodge was running a sex video scam where they taped guests in a certain suite then blackmailed them. So Gemma and Nick pretended to be married when they went there, hoping to catch the blackmailers.

I liked this cozy mystery. It was well written with a beautiful setting at the lodge in the woods. Gemma is a great woman. I like her intelligent and caring personality. The way she kept looking at the rings on her finger was cute. Even though she solved the mystery, things didn't end well for her.

This story was full of surprises with the biggest one being who actually killed Cupid. It's a must read if you like cozy mysteries.

The blurb for this cozy mystery sounded funny but being a murder mystery, it didn't stay funny. Gemma and Holly opened their own jewelry kiosk with high hopes for their business. They were doing really well with lots of customers. Until Santa was found dead in Santa Land. Who killed him? The list of possibilities was long. The children loved him but the adults didn't like him at all. On top of the murder there were lots of thefts in the mall. Gemma started investigating the thefts and murder even though Detective Ferguson was on the case.

I liked this mystery even with Santa dying. After all Santa is suppose to live forever. It's got a good plot and characters. Gemma is a kindhearted woman and is well liked by the other vendors. The detective is good at his job and is all business except for his attraction to Gemma.

I enjoyed this Christmas themed cozy with it's surprise ending.
