Mitchell paints a picture of the expanding field of design by means of interviewing thirteen designers and theorists in different disciplines, including architecture, product design, design strategy and design theory. Taken together, the interviews capture a number of emerging themes such as the increasing scope of the design task, the importance of involving users in design processes, and managing design strategically.
