Richard Middleton was for many years Lecturer and Reader in American History at Queen's University Belfast. Colonial America : a history, 1607-1760 por Richard Middleton

Fantastic single volume history of colonial America. A great introduction for someone like me who had no real background in American history. Full of suggested reading for an array of more specialized topics. Not only that, Middleton goes further and maps out the competing arguments of different historians over different issues. Very well balanced and very engrossing, I found myself lapping up chapters on topics I wouldn't have expected to find interesting at all.
