Had I known about this book when I was in grade 1-3, I would have been extremely happy. I am familiar with about half the folklore of the compilation as they often accompanied hand and jump rope games when I was young. Those that I am not familiar with, I’m sure I would have loved to learn while on the playground.
Until now, I did not know these rhymes had roots in African American Folklore. This is a wonderful compilation as it assigns African American children right heritages while sharing the pieces with everyone.… (más)
