Another great installment in The Bandit Hills series by Blair Merrin. Fun, fast paced is an understatement in the paranormal town of Bandit Hills where you never know what will happen next.
Cass and her nerdy boyfriend Dash end up trying to exercise and end up finding a car and a dead body. That's Bandit Hills for ya! Things spiral from there when Cass finds out she knows the victim and something just isn't sitting well with her. Of course, curious Cass just can't let it go and begins to investigate much to the dismay of Dash.
Excitement galore await readers in Mac N Cheese Murder book 5.
Just a side note I love where Bonnie's character is headed but that is all I'll say. No spoilers here.

Second-Hand Murder: Book 1 in the Bandit Hills Series by Blair Merin is a captivating short mystery. It kept me entertained from start to finish. I gave it five stars.

The protagonist, Cassie has a mantra: "One person's trash is another person's treasure." It's what keeps her going as she sorts through donation box. This is something I learned from my parents. Nothing goes to waste.

Only her mother calls her Cassandra. It used to irk her when she was sixteen but now she's thirty-two. Her other nickname is Miss Miscellanea which is the name of her secondhand shop. Her mom is her only employee.

They are located in Bandit Hills, Tennessee which is known for unusual phenomena. There's an expression whenever anything strange happens: "That's Bandit Hills for ya."

Cassie is friends with Dash who was a high school friend & is now a private investigator. She calls him about a voodoo doll she received with a photo of a woman who died the prior week & hires him to investigate the death.

Cassie has just the right amount of snarkiness & she & Dash have funny interactions.

"The problem with being awoken in the middle of the night by a loud noise is that you don't actually know what the noise was, because you weren't awake for it--which in my book, is worse than just hearing a loud noise in the middle of the night, because at least than you might be able to determine what it was."

I received a complimentary kindle copy from Amazon. That did not change my opinion for this review.

Delicious is the best way to describe book four. Things are heating up in Bandit Hills not only because of ghosts but long buried secrets that some may kill to keep buried. On the yummy side, Bonnie has found a cookbook with recipes that will make your mouth water reading. Perfect cook out BBQ!
Cassie and Dash are at the diner and become caught up in another murder mystery when someone comes in saying there's a dead body at the Waverly house. Dash ends up going and tells Cas to hang back and call Phil. Phil gets there pretty quick but the interesting thing is the call that Cassie gets from Dash asking her to come to the scene? This definitely has her interest peaked until she gets there only to find an object that was supposed to be with Bonnie beside the dead body! Wholly Cow! How did it get there??? Well, I guess that's Bandit Hills for ya. Soon Cassie will become even closer to the object and the ghost attached to it to try and solve this murder and prevent another.
This book had me guessing all the way through and I was shocked at the end.

Bacon, Eggs, and Boogeyman is book three in the Bandit Hills series. This is a series not to be missed. It is jammed packed full of adventure and mystery. Bandit Hills is a quirky little town where you never know what will happen next. Ghosts, paranormal, mystery, that's just Bandit Hills.
Cass and Dash are a great couple. They definitely have fun with each other. Especially when Cass gets Dash going about the paranormal. Even though he grew up in Bandit Hills he has a hard time with things that go bump in the night. He is what some may call a chicken and Cass knows just how to play on this emotion to get him to do what she wants like going to spend the night in a creepy sanitarium! Triple dog dare you works every time. Someone goes missing and Cass and a reluctant Dash get their snoop on trying to find out what happened. Will they be able to solve this case before an innocent gets hurt??? Love Cass's saying, "The dead aren't scary. The living are." So true!… (más)
