The Black Hole at the Center of Our Galaxy por Fulvio Melia
More technical than it looks
A follow-up to "The Black Hole at the Center of Our Galaxy". The last chapter, discussing a possible explanation of the nature of the universe, is terrific. Melia does a great job explaining complex topics in cosmology for the non-astrophysicist.
Our professor assigned this as the required text in our Astro 301 course (U Kentucky). We were all surprised to see that it's not a textbook at all. It's one of the best written (popular) science books I've read in the past few years.
This is probably my favorite book right now. I only heard about it a few months ago, even though it's been out for a few years. It's lively, full of images, and well written. You need to know something about astronomy to get a lot out of it, but if you're an amateur astronomer, this is great.
