As I expected, a heartbreaking story. Nearly pulls me under thinking about communities like Montevideo multiplied throughout the country and even the world. Even when personally acquainted with Virji and his family, after Trump's election, people felt they could publicly attack anyone with different beliefs and from a different culture. Just published 2019. Haven't we made any progress? Is the root of it fear or hate. I didn't find it as disjunct at the other reviewer but it's not eloquently written, factually.… (más)

Wow! I loved this book! Would be a great book club selection. "This is a vivid account of one man's efforts to make sense of political tensions, racial hatred, and religious misunderstandings." (Publisher's Weekly)
