This book is about the life of Stephen Hawking. This book doesn't have much of a plot, but I will try my best that I can. The book starts with Hawking's revolutionary theory, of how black holes aren't really black. Then the book goes to what Hawking did as a child. Hawking was born in Oxford, England. Hawking actually took part in a rowing team. In school Hawking study that much, because he already new all the answers, for example at Cambridge the students were supposed to do as many problems as possible, the other students did one and a half. that day the students asked Hawking how many problems he had done, Hawking said none, but by the time class had started he had done ten. After he had gotten his PhD, Hawking had proposed the existence of miniholes- black holes smaller than the nucleus of an atom. When he was still in graduate school, he was writing the manuscript for a book, of which he sold, and many people did not understand. He also found out that black holes should be radiating an almost infinite amount of mass. Stephen Hawking was awarded the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, the highest award of mathematics achievable. Hawking then wrote a book named, "A Brief History of Time." Hawking then became famous around the world, so much so that he appeared on Star Trek.
I liked this book even though it was slow. I liked how it talked about Stephen Hawking, one of my personal heroes. I like this book, because it gives you many interesting facts, such as how Hawking took a passion in rowing. I liked how it explained how Hawking got his theories. I very much appreciate how it didn't threw all the info. at me and said deal with it. Rather it gave me the information slowly, and legibly, so to speak.… (más)
