I found this book very interesting as I am quite interested on the Plunketts. The author, who has an interesting background as a poet and in literature, analyses Joseph Plunkett's rationale for becoming involved with the IRB and committing himself to the Easter Rising which led to his ultimate execution. His curious family relationship especially that of a very domineering mother is examined. The roles of religion, literature (his views & contributions to same) and love among other themes are all analysed. One issue I would have is that each of the three chapters are very long, making ease of reading difficult. However the book is very well referenced throughout. The book may not be for everyone but it does provide a good biographical account about Plunkett and his family.… (más)
