William McCormack (1933–2016)

Ten years of homicide in Toronto from the late 60s to the late 70s. These cases represent the range and highlights (or lowlights) of murder in that supposed bastion of nice. The stories are interesting, but none of them seems to have been terribly difficult to solve. This is a little frustrating since the author alludes at the very end (during a brief and unbearably sad "bonus" case description) to at least one totally unsolved case. Why didn't that one get a chapter?

Good and quick read, but other detective memoirs out there can offer a bit more. This is, however, a good testament to the changing crime scene in urban environments in North America between 1965-1980.… (más)
