Unprofitable Schooling is solid coverage of a topic that gets plenty of politicized attention. The chapters are a well-curated collection of essays by experts in the field. As always, you can depend on a Cato book to offer plenty of research notes and both sides of the argument. What I most valued from this book was the historical context behind our educational systems and the economic analysis about how the growth in upper education preceded the significant expansion in government funding so often cited as critical. There are also useful sections about tenure for professors and for-profit colleges within the market.… (más)
