Il film è ambientato in una fattoria, dove delle anatre che stanno aspettando un anatroccolo osservano dischiudersi il loro uovo, dall'insolito colore nero: da esso emerge un'anatra bianca coi baffi a francobollo, chiarissimo riferimento ad Adolf Hitler, che subito fa il saluto nazista gridando "Sieg Heil!".

Divenuto adulto il cucciolo d'anatra pronuncia discorsi aggressivi e violenti nei confronti degli altri animali della fattoria, cercando di creare un vasto fronte bellico contro di loro: l'unico alleato che trova è una tronfia oca grassa e nera dall'accento napoletano, ossia Benito Mussolini, che comincia anch'essa a sfoderare una retorica guerrafondaia venendo ascoltata ed applaudita solo da un piccolo pulcino, costretto con la forza ad assistere allo "spettacolo".

Dopo questi avvenimenti, vengono inviate delle truppe a circondare la zona (compreso l'infiltrato Duffy) mentre una colomba (che simboleggia la pace), osservandoli dall'alto piange perché è conscia della violenza che di lì a poco si scatenerà. Tra le anatre e le oche si svolge una conferenza di pace, ma l'ormai facinoroso Hitler toglie il trattato dalle mani del possibilista Mussolini e lo strappa; dopo ciò aggredisce fisicamente tutti gli astanti scatenando una lotta furibonda.

Nel frattempo, per dar manforte ai due alleati dell'Asse, si mette in viaggio verso la fattoria un'anziana anatra giapponese, Tōjō, che durante il tragitto in mare pianta un cartello con da un lato la bandiera di guerra nipponica e dall'altro la scritta "Japanese Mandate Island" (Isola sotto mandato giapponese) su ogni isola che trova per rivendicarne il possesso. Distrattamente però infilza una tartaruga che, riemergendo dall'acqua, la aggredisce colpendola varie volte: invano l'anatra del Sol Levante finge di essere cinese.

I tre (l'anatra tedesca, l'oca italiana e l'anatra giapponese) si mettono in marcia con le loro truppe verso la conquista della fattoria: la colomba prima cerca di dialogare con loro, ma viene calpestata e di conseguenza reagisce con la forza, sconfiggendoli definitivamente. La pellicola si conclude con la colomba che narra tale storia ai suoi due figli Pace e Quiete mentre espone con orgoglio sulle mura di casa le teste dei nemici a mo' di trofeo bellico; il cartone termina con un invito propagandistico e patriottico pro-USA ad acquistare i buoni dello stato (bond). Da notare che quest'ultima scena è quasi sempre assente nelle versioni rilasciate nel pubblico dominio, come quella italiana, dove in genere il cartone si conclude bruscamente nel bel mezzo del combattimento finale. A pair of farm ducks anticipate the hatching of their duckling from an unusually black-colored egg. A white duckling with a toothbrush mustache, Adolf Hitler, emerges from the egg and immediately shouts "Sieg Heil!" while giving the Nazi salute. Hitler's adulthood is spent giving aggressive speeches toward the other ducks and geese. His only ally is a large black Neapolitan-accented goose, Benito Mussolini, who promotes his own warmongering rhetoric to a solitary chick who is forced to attend and applaud.

Hitler's stormtroopers surround the farm while a Dove of Peace, observing from above, weeps in anticipation of the upcoming violence. A peace conference is held between the ducks and geese, but the unstable Hitler puts the peace treaty through a paper shredder and instigates a furious brawl. Meanwhile, an odd Japanese duck, Hideki Tojo, travels to the farm to support Hitler and Mussolini and "to make a silly Axis of himself". During his voyage across the sea, he absentmindedly plants a sign reading "Japanese Mandate Island" on a turtle's back. When the turtle emerges, sees what has been placed on his shell and subsequently attacks Tojo, this 'Ducktator' vainly attempts to pass himself off as Chinese.

With their troops, Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo set out toward their planned conquest of the farm. The Dove attempts to reason with them, but they ignore and trample him. The Dove violently retaliates and, with the aid of other animals - including a rabbit that is a send-up of Jerry Colonna (possibly a caricature of Joseph Stalin). The Ducktators are seen running as a Minuteman emerges from a poster that says "For Victory, Buy United States Victory Bonds" and begins firing his musket. The Dove is then seen relating the tale to his two children, Peace and Quiet, while proudly displaying the battered heads of his enemies as trophies mounted above his fireplace.
