It's sort of positioined as an autobiography: pregnant woman's husband doesn't come back to Alaska; she's injured in a landslide; and she endures and survivies and has her baby and ata the end her husband comes back. Supposedly based on the life of a Helen Bolyan. It was gripping for a while, but then her cheeriness and resiliency in the face of all this adversity became both cloying and unbelievable.
