Whispers of Wisdom by Marguerite Martin Gray is a Christian Historical Romance. Nicole straddles the line between servant and high society. She sets out on a treasure hunt with Pierre and wonders if it might bring her closer to her dreams. Pierre longs for more than just the glitter of high society; Nicole might fulfill those longings.

One of my favorite parts of this story is the various herbs, flowers, and other items Nicole uses to create beautiful centerpieces for the family she works for and interacts with routinely. I love how the author masterfully weaves the characters and storylines into a masterpiece that kept me reading.

I found myself unable to put this book down. I wanted to see if Nicole would get her happily ever after ending. So, if you are looking for a Christian Historical Romance, check out Whispers of Wisdom by Marguerite Martin Gray

You can feel the excitement on Nicole as she gets ready to go to her job gardening. She wants to do an excellent job for her employer and works tirelessly making beautiful flower arrangements to brighten the place up. It was fun for her to see her old friend but she does take a second glance at his friend Pierre. Hmm. Wonder if they will become friends?

The history in the book is nice as Martin Luther and others are named. I loved how this flows seamless with the story and how it all comes together. There are many questions asked about what someone believes in such as the the Bible. I like the answer she was given “that from the Bible yes, although I do ponder and meditate over it.”

Pierre is just as curious as Nicole and she eagerly encourages him to look around the chateau and see what they can discover. It seems these two have formed a bond and may unearth secrets long hidden within the walks of the chateau. He is trying to learn how to manage an estate but is distracted at times die to his interest in Nicole. Could there be a blooming romance ?

The story follows these two main characters as they seek answers and decide who to believe in. Very thought provoking book that makes you want to research some of the historical figures mentioned in the story.

The lessons of the world are LOUD, BIG and BOISTEROUS. They could spur a revolution. The whispers of God are soft, compassionate, permanent, loving. They are dialogues for life.

It is 1747 in France. Some of the nobility are seeing the wisdom of cultivating food sources at home. But many are so busy with parties, etc. that they live like there are no cares in the world. Pierre, with the help of his benefactor, is apprenticing and learning to manage an estate that is profitable. Will their efforts make a difference? Only time will tell.

Nicole is a gardener, with an uncanny ability to create. Her arrangements with flowers and other growing things are a beauty to behold. She does, however, seem to be caught up in the wisdom of the times, until she starts to sense the still small voice of the Lord. Will her focus be changed as she learns to test the truth of these statements against God’s truths and promises?

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Amy Engle wants to help those who need help and forgiveness but they haven’t trusted God for this part of their life. And so this is what she is doing for George. He so much needed the forgiveness.

I enjoyed this journey with George and Amy. This is a sweet sweet story of love, forgiveness, in the life of George. It was interesting to watch as they struggled together. I enjoyed their interactions with each other as each got to know the other one better, as they drew closer to each other. I was so happy that these two fell in love. They are so good together. Author Marguerite Martin Gray does a beautiful job of creating just the right characters in George and Amy. As well as the surrounding characters that made up for this book. If you enjoy a good interesting read during the holidays, this one is for you. And it can also be read any day of the year. I’m giving Promise Me Christmas Five Stars.
