There are a few good episodes, and a number of great Laurie Metcalf moments. For long stretches it's just a mess, feeling very much like there's nobody left to tell Roseanne that she needs to make an effort.

There are some weak episodes - especially the first few. But most of the time, this is one of the funniest sitcoms I've ever seen.

The big appeal of the early seasons of this show is how you could tell that they loved each other, underneath the veneer of meanness. That's gone now. At this point, they're just abusive half the time.

Good. It continues the focus on soap-opera story over jokes, but the stories are better this season, and they still manage to get some good jokes in there.
