A light-hearted and educational read for baseball fans, but Red Sox aficionados in particular. I don't know much about philosophy, so a couple of the ideas were beyond me, but most of the essays are quite readable, discussing the team's history -- including, thankfully, the recent World Series wins and not just Buckner, Dent, etc. -- and providing insights into the psyche of the ballclub and of Red Sox Nation. Some of the analogies are quite entertaining, particularly the one comparing slugger Ted Williams to Taoist masters. I still get upset when the Sox strand five baserunners in the span of two innings without scoring a run -- but now at least I know why I'm yelling so loudly!… (más)
