Blood of the Dragonfly by Hawk MacKinney centers around a fire that ended up taking out a bigger part of the Corpsewood Manor, along with bodies found in the burned mansion. Former Navy SEAL-turned-PI Craige Ingram along with his buddy, Head of Buckingham Homicide Investigation Lt. Graysen MacGerald is immediately on the case to find the reasoning behind the burned bodies, as well as who started the fire in the first place.

Craige Ingram is the person to follow as he starts the journey of solving the crime. A lot of things are happening in this story, many twists and turns that will keep you guessing. MacKinney does a really nice job choosing characters that develop well throughout the story. Lots of ups and downs and tension flowing around. Blood of the Dragonfly is a very well written book, the first book I have read by Hawk MacKinney, and I look forward to reading more. If suspense is what you enjoy, this would be a great choice for you.

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

I feel that one should read at least one of the other books in this series to really enjoy it. There are some things that must have happened in previous books that I would have liked to have read so I could have enjoyed this story more. This has a very good ending. I had some trouble in the beginning with the style of language but I got used to it. The characters are great. I received a copy of this book from ireadbooktours for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Blood of the dragonfly is book five of this series. It continues the series of crime-fighting and solving murders now in the backyard of to ex seals. If you are into mysteries and murder, this series is a good one for you.

Though I would suggest that you be wary that there are death scenes and some nasty words for some readers. This book is for adults, and I recommend maybe ages 16 to 17 years old and up. However, that is up to the parents and their choice to read this book or series. This series has different ratings for content for each book.

There seem to be quite a few twists and turns throughout the book. It all starts when Craige decides to help his buddy MacGerald get home from PDK airport. It seems to start up with a mysterious shadow that he thinks he spots. Someone somehow comes alive after being dead?

You will go for a ride and hit some bumps along the way. It starts heating up when Spinner decides to come for a visit at Moccasin Hollow. Will they find out who started the fire? Who is this mystery woman that shows up out of nowhere? Who messed with MacGerarald's investigation? Who wants them all dead? What does the dragonfly have to do with it at all?

Suppose you are into thrillers and suspense and mystery. This book and series is a good one to pick up and read. I have rated this book 4.5 stars (Moons). It seems to have puzzles and clues to have you guessing until the end. What did I know more about how Corpsewood Manor was the target or a little more detail about what was going on to set fire to Corpsewood?

Well, Book 3 of this series “Inanna Phantom” was better a bit better with the action. Though I say is a 4.5-star rating for me. The story was good. I like that it completed showing the progression of the families from book one through book 3. Though this time is set on the families more so then it did one other.

The most action takes place on League sides and Eorthe (Earth). The main being David and Eklam being the main ones trying to solve the league and saving the world. With the help of Myr in the mix of it. We get most of the action with link net and ripped intrusions though out.

Why and does he the one wanting the power want to destroy all worlds? There is one surprising creature and I like that. Will he help save the league and Lantaarn worlds or will it hurt? We do see what can happen when things are put into the wrong hands.
