Levi Fischer didn't come to Miller's Crossing to find love. He'd come to help his cousin, and to hopefully put his past behind him. One year ago, he thought he'd found the love of his life, but Anne didn't feel the same. She caused him pain, ruined his trust, and took away his faith in finding true love. Levi has no plans for another relationship, until he takes this temporary job with his cousin, and meets Sadie Fischer. Sadie, often headstrong, but oh, so full of life! Sadie, who doesn't want to marry the Amish man her father has picked out for her! Sadie, who is searching for someone who is 'not too old or not too young'!

This is a heartwarming look at two young people who appear to want different things. Sadie is positive that Levi is the man that God meant for her to love, and Levi is equally sure that he can't allow another woman into his heart. He just can't endure more heartbreak!

"I know your vader has someone in mind for you. Maybe you should consider his choice. Sadie, I'm not sure I'm the man who can be your 'not too old or not too young'."

Will Sadie be able to change Levi's mind? Does God's Plan for Levi include an Amish schoolteacher? The Amish Teacher's Wish is filled with fun, family, and faith, and it's an enjoyable read for those who like Amish romance.

The Amish Teacher’s Wish, by Tracey J. Lyons is a heart warming Amish story of a young teacher and a newcomer to the area. Sadie is suppose to drop off something for her mother and decides to take a short cut which lands in her a wet muddy mess. She is rescued by a newcomer to the area, Levi Byler.

Levi has come to Miller Crossing to get away after being dumped by his fiance. He is to help his cousin with building sheds. Shortly after arriving, a storm rips through the area and damages the school. He is assigned to work with the teacher, Sadie, to get the school ready for the year. They end up spending time alone working on projects, which does not sit well with members of the community and could hurt Sadie’s job. She loves the kids so much and is so good for them all.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The love Sadie has for her students is very clear. And the generosity Levi displays to all is wonderful. I enjoyed reading of the quirky situations Sadie found herself in. This is a nice story to read just for enjoyment and to get lost in. It is a good clean story of characters with strong convictions. This is a good story that shows God puts us in places and situations for a reason, we may not know why, but it usually turns out good.

I voluntarily read a complimentary copy of this book. This is my honest review.

Not having read any books by Tracey J Lyons, I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I found The Amish Teacher's Wish to be a charming Amish romance. The story is set in a small New York Amish community where, as often is the case in a close-knit town, rumors and gossip run freely which sometimes creates impossible situations. Sadie loves her temporary placement as the schoolteacher and is trying to figure out how to get out of an arranged marriage her father is planning for her. Levi is in town to work with a cousin, trying to forgive and forget about a broken relationship. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and mature throughout the story. Sadie, sweet, independent, with a firm belief in God, just wants true love while Levi just wants to selfishly drown in the sorrow of his heartbreak for a while longer. Beginning with a muddy tumble and continuing through a rebuild of the schoolhouse after a strong gale force storm with community meals and get-togethers this quick-to-read book kept my interest high. I am looking forward to reading more from this author and readers who enjoy stories about the Amish community and sweet romances (with a little sass from the characters) will not want to miss this one.

Holding out for true love...it's one of the hardest thing a person has to do, and something everyone can relate to, in one form or another. Sadie, the schoolteacher of the Amish community of Miller's Crossing, dreams of finding her true love, despite her father trying to force an arranged marriage with an older widow from their community on her.

When Levi, a newcomer to Miller's Crossing, comes to help repair the schoolhouse that was damaged during a recent storm, Sadie sees the man as a possible answer to prayer. What she doesn't realize is Levi has baggage of his own, and has come to this new community to start over, and is definitely not looking for a relationship, especially after suffering an incredible blow in the love department.

The relationship between Levi and Sadie is a slow build, but one that shows two broken people that are afraid of getting hurt, and is a road that is invokes empathy and was heartwarming to read. I loved how everyone worked together as a community to rebuild not only the schoolhouse but build each other up as well. I believe the theme of helping your neighbor is one that cannot be stressed enough, and this was one of my favorite parts of this novel.

If I had one complaint about the story it would be how often Levi mentioned his past hurt. I get that he is grieving, but it got to the point to where I wanted to yell, "Get over it already!" through the pages. Yet, as I write this I am again reminded of how relatable this is. How many of us have struggled to let go of a past hurt?

The Amish Teacher's Wish has such an organic feel, and has a wonderful flow. It is also the perfect reminder that God does have a plan for our lives, even when we don't see it, and life might not look like what we think it should, but beauty truly can come from ashes. I absolutely adored this novel and I know you too will not be disappointed.
