This is my favorite knitting instruction book ever. Really, it’s a game changer. It both has tons of tricks to help you make your knitting look polished and right AND helps you understand why the tricks work. It is a great start in better understanding the structure of your knitting and why things work like they do , which opens up so many creative possibilities.
Borrowed from library. Read it through and returned it. Days later, realized I wanted to consult it for tips. Then again. Then again. So bought my own copy.
Well-illustrated techniques for fixing pesky small things in knitting, like making a spiral into an actual circle so there’s less of a jog when you change colors. (She says jogless but I’m not good enough for that or I just knit differently enough—she’s very big on things being different for each individual knitter, just as each telegraph operator had their own “fist.”) Lots of things that I will try for, among other things, better buttonholes and ribbing, as well as a few things that seemed unlikely to be worth the bother. Good advice for changing patterns to match your own gauge as well as explanations of when that makes sense. I took a class with her before picking this book up, but if you can follow tutorials you shouldn’t need a class.… (más)
Introduction to Color Knitting is a single DVD (a little under an hour and a half) that is jam packed full of knitting tricks I've never seen. Not only did I learn how to knit in my tail as I go, I learned how to manage multiple colors, the magical felted join, two color cast on, slip stitch knitting and about a million other tricks. As in her live classes, Patty packs in a bunch of knitting tips that just improve your knitting. If you ever see Patty teach live, online or as a DVD get them!!
