Matt Lucas

It was okay, I liked most of it but there were sections I zoned out on (I listened to the audiobook). I mainly know Matt Lucas from Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire and especially The Great British Bake Off, never watched Little Britain, and probably never will. I did not know that he also played Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum in the meh Alice in Wonderland movie by Tim Burton so there's that. I did find the insights into stagecraft very interesting though.
Would I recommend this book? I guess if you're looking for a pretty light bio somewhat comparable to Jon Cryer's [b:So That Happened: My Unexpected Life in Hollywood|22571499|So That Happened My Unexpected Life in Hollywood|Jon Cryer|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1427548198l/22571499._SX50_.jpg|41999458], this is probably it. Although I did enjoy his reading and voice. So yeah, it was fine and I would go so far as to recommend the audiobook.… (más)

I was fortunate enough to win a copy of this book from LibraryThing's Early Reviewers.

I was interested in this book because I highly enjoyed Matt Lucas' character on Doctor Who; he was the right combination of seriousness and comedic relief...okay, mostly comedic relief. But he was a character to be taken seriously. And this combination of honesty, vulnerability, and yes, comedy, shone through in this book. I guess my only negative would be that I didn't relate to Lucas as much as I was hoping, probably because I am not as familiar with his other work as he is a British actor and, alas, I am not British. However, it was a good read. 3.5 stars.… (más)
