High 3 for the chemistry between MCs. Book could have been a 4 except for:
1) too much of the annoying George (original love interest), 2) too slow to arrive to 3rd act conflicts (could have been shorter), 3) which are then resolved too quickly.

Lovely chemistry but final grovel insufficient.
And, for all there was too much George in prior novel, he was missing from this one- revenge quotient lacking.

First of all, I hate the tropes of misunderstandings and wasted years. Resolution wrapped up too quickly so, in spite of fun characters, it was a less than stellar finish to the series.

Quick and sweet. Mistakenly thought it was a prequel- wish I had read it in order though so my own fault that it reads like a low 3 the first time.
