The book is divided into fiction and nonfiction sections. That approach didn't work for me. The exercises were useful, but the final exercise combining everything didn't seem very relevant.
Nevertheless, the book is innovative and might have more appeal for a child.

I like how visually inviting this book is. It really makes the idea of computational thinking accessible and fun, and breaks it down into logic-based activities that are fun for all kids, whether they enjoy working on computers or not.

This book follow the coding adventures of a little girl named Ruby. Ruby is a sassy, witty, and smart kid who doesn't like being told what to do and has a big imagination. Ruby's father senders her a postcard and senders her on a quest to find five gems. Her father does not give any instructions and Ruby is forced to make a plan. This launches her into the basics concepts of coding including, the multitude of opportunities to solve problems along with it.
How to use - This would be a great introduction to coding, probably used for 1st or 2nd graders. This book could also accompany the coding unit that we did junior year.… (más)
