Most of this book is as relevant today as it was in 1936. Dale Carnegie recommends it in his book "How to win friends and influence people" (which was also a bestseller around the same time). Don't be put off by the word 'religion' in the title since this is not a book about religion as such - rather the religious connection is that many commonsense/practical/psychologically sound ideas about effective living can be drawn from religion. Henry Link was the 'Dr Phil' of his day. He was actually against too much personal reflection and inward searching, and saw the path to psychological health and well-being as involving getting out into society, learning new skills, interacting with other people, looking outside oneself.

Immensely popular in his time he wrote other books expanding on his ideas - for example "The way to security", "The rediscovery of man".
