Eleven Days: An Unexpected Love
#1 Days Trilogy

Two people fall in lust at first sight and call it love within two or three days. Their initial "love" story was eye rolling because they both spoke to each other like 12 year olds ("I love you to infinity."--really?), but the story picked up in the middle when threatening events start occurring at the h's rental beach house and some neighboring locals are found murdered. The owner of her rental, the H, is a U.S. marshal and is able to call in his team to protect his new girl and try to locate the killer.

One of the problems with this story is that there was way too much information included that should have been culled out because it had no relevance to the plot and wasn't interesting to begin with. We didn't need several chapters about her dying cousin. We could have been told in a page that she was grieving over her cousin's death and that she decided to take a vacation to get away from the memories.

Secondly, the insta-love was totally unbelievable. I've read insta-love books before and somehow could see how people could feel an instant connection. It didn't happen here. The dialogue was often awkward and we were often told about things after the fact that supposedly convinced them that they had a lot in common. If we were shown instead of told, perhaps it would have helped us see them gradually grow closer together. Instead, what we were shown was him staring at her large chest and practically drooling and them discussing forever on Day 2.

Lastly, after 230+ pages, it ends in a cliffhanger. I knew there was going to be a catch and was expecting it, but figured it would have been revealed in the last paragraph or so...or a short epilogue. Instead, you have to move on to the next book for the big reveal. This story has definite potential; the suspense part actually got interesting even though there were way too many suspects thrown in as red herrings, but as is, I would recommend skipping it.
